On the heels of signing a lease for San Francisco Birth Center, our fabulous architect, Julie Jackson of Jackson Liles Architecture, managed to QUICKLY get our permits through the notoriously crotchety SF Department of Building Inspections. Permits have all been pulled and…
Demolition has begun!
The space was a doctor’s office and is both clean and well kept. But, as you can guess, we envision some great improvements. We are taking out a large reception desk to create a classroom where we will hold group prenatals, new parents groups, community meetings, childbirth prep classes, etc.
In the back, we are tearing out four offices to create two birthing suites with private bathrooms and built-in birthing tubs. The rooms have beautiful floor to ceiling windows. But don’t worry, we are already looking at window treatments that will allow privacy while still providing good light and the option of a view.
Meanwhile, we are putting the last finishes on the business side of things. So. Many. Details!!! We aren’t QUITE ready to start accepting clients, but expect the big announcement in the next couple of weeks.
*Secret note: If you are due in the summer or later, we should have a place for you
